Lexy Vincent Named Flag Bearer for 2015 WCSG Opening Ceremony

Team Sask is excited to announce Lexy Vincent from Regina as the Flag Bearer for the Wood Buffalo 2015 Western Canada Summer Games Opening Ceremony.


Vincent has advanced through the sport system, competing in Canoe/Kayak at the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games and the 2013 Canada Summer Games, and in Cross Country Skiing at the 2014 Saskatchewan Winter Games and 2015 Canada Winter Games. At the 2013 Canada Summer Games, Vincent won a bronze medal in the K-1 1000m event at the age of 16. Vincent has also excelled outside of multi-sport games, placing 1st in the K-1 6km and 3rd in the K-1 500m events at the 2014 Canadian Sprint Nationals. For the second year in a row, Vincent has been named to the Junior National Women’s Kayaking Team.

The Opening Ceremony marks the official beginning of the 2015 Western Canada Games and will be taking place tonight at Shell Place in Fort McMurray.
