They supply the body with an excellent source of carbohydrates, which can help to maintain our blood sugar levels throughout the day.

I am a Registered Dietitian and Sports Nutrition consultant with the Sport Medicine and Science Council of Saskatchewan. I completed my undergraduate degree in the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan in 2002. I started working with the Sport Medicine and Science Council in May 2002. I have worked with numerous provincial teams, as well as athletes at the national and international level. I have been a member of three Canada Games teams, as an athlete, a manager and mission staff for Saskatchewan.
With the Sport Medicine and Science Council of Saskatchewan I conduct the Dairy Farmers of Saskatchewan sports nutrition high school education program. I conduct the nutrition education sessions for the Brainsport running and walking clinics. I also work with the general population doing presentations on healthy weight loss and proper eating for endurance and strength training.
I am currently working on my masters degree in the College of Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan in the area of sports nutrition and exercise metabolism.
