Today's #MissionStaffSpotlight is:
Name: Crystal Gellner
Mission Staff role: Ringette and Women’s Curling
Crystal has been involved in numerous types of Games and sporting events, but this is her first time as Mission Staff for the Canada Games. See what she had to say to some of our questions!
Q: What other Games have you been involved in, and in what capacity?
A: Saskatchewan Games six times, four of those as Chef de Mission. Western Canada Summer Games as Head Coach for Athletics Special Olympics. Canadian Special Olympics Games summer and winter as mission staff, team manager, assistant coach and head coach for athletics.
Q: What are you most looking forward to in Prince George?
A: The hospitality of Prince George, they always put on a great event.
Mission Staff are volunteers for Team Sask who act as a liason between the team and the host society. They will do their best to ensure that all of the logistics around your time at the Canada Games run smoothly, allowing the athletes, coaches and managers to focus on competition. Mission Staff will handle the orders of boxed lunches, call transportation if a bus is running behind, inform the team of important information regarding the Games, etc. Most importantly though, Mission Staff are there to cheer you on and support the team.
Make sure you say hi to the Team Sask Mission Staff; it will make their day!
