Day 0: Team Sask at the 2025 Canada Summer Games
ST. JOHN’S, NL (August 8, 2025): With one day to go until the 2025 Canada Summer Games officially begin, Team Sask is on the move. Week one participants are due to arrive in St. John’s, NL at 7:28 PM NT/4:08 PM CST and 11:10 PM NT/7:40 PM CST Friday evening. After their first night in the Athletes’ Village, hosted at Memorial University, participants will gear up for a full day of practice and orientation before Saturday evening’s Opening Ceremony (7:00 PM NT/stream here). Dual-sport athlete Hayden Kot (Regina; Basketball - F/Volleyball - F) will lead the team as Opening Ceremony flag bearer.
A total of 253 athletes, coaches, managers, technical staff and mission staff will compete in the first half of the Games in the following sports: Baseball (M), Basketball (M & F), Beach Volleyball, Box Lacrosse (F), Canoe Kayak, Cycling (Road), Rugby Sevens (M & F), Sailing, Soccer (M), Softball (F), Swimming, and Tennis.
