Mark McMorris, Team Sask alumnus from the 2007 Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, created a record this weekend at the 2013 X Games in Aspen, Colorado. On his third run for Snowboard Slopestyle, McMorris pulled out a difficult cab double cork 1260, moving his score up to 98.00; the highest score ever seen in this event. McMorris won Gold, defending his title.
McMorris just narrowly missed winning Gold in his other event at the X Games; Snowboard Big Air. Norway's Torstein Horgmo scored a perfect score, moving McMorris to a Silver.
McMorris is expected to compete for Gold at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Russia.
