Saskatchewan Games Council is dedicated to providing an opportunity for the province's developing athletes, coaches and officials to participate in a multi-sport event in preparation for a higher level of competition. The Saskatchewan Games Council is a non-profit sport organization, located in Regina.  The Saskatchewan Games Council is looking for a dedicated individual to join our team. We are inviting applications for the position of:

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Executive Director holds a key leadership position for the Saskatchewan Games Council Office. Under the direction and guidelines set by the Board of Directors, this position is accountable for all planning, organization and development of the office. This includes providing support to the Board of Directors and leadership to the staff.

The Executive Director monitors programs to ensure consistency with criteria established by funding sources, member needs, and the mission and goals of the Saskatchewan Games Council. This position oversees Board meeting preparation and follow-up, and provides guidance and advice to the Board and office staff. The Executive Director gathers, interprets and articulates information to the Board about provincial trends and resources as they relate to enhancing the Board’s capacity for effective communication, decision-making and long-term planning. This position monitors and oversees the financial management of the office, and has a key role in the development, updating and monitoring of the Strategic/Business Plan.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business administration, sport management or a related field.
  • Significant work experience in a not-for-profit environment; experience working with volunteer boards and committees is essential.
  • A strong background in sports administration, marketing and promotion is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of multi sport games is considered essential.
  • Financial management is essential 
  • Understanding of grants relating to sport is considered an asset.
  • Proven leadership ability within a team setting.
  • Experience with MS Office (word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation).
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
