Silver medal winners at the Halifax 2011 Canada Winter Games, Team Sharback continues to compete well.
Saskatoon's Brady Scharback captured his first Provincial Junior Men's title Monday in Stoughton with a convincing 9-1 win over favoured Colton Flasch in the Championship final. Scharback, along with third, Quinn Hersikorn, second, Jacob Hersikorn and lead, Brady Kendel will now represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Junior Championship in Napanee, Ontario, February 4-12, 2012.
Scharback advanced to the final with an 8-5 win over Jake Ripplinger in Sunday night's A1 vs B1 Page Playoff after scoring four in the 9th end to take a three-point lead heading home. Scharback finished in a three-way tie for top spot in his pool along with Flasch and Daniel Selke with 4-1 records but got the bye into the first page playoff by virtue of the cumulative distance of pre-game draws to the button for hammer.
Flasch won the semi-final Monday morning over Ripplinger 9-3 to move into the final after winning two previous playoff games including a tie-breaker. Flash defeated Selke 11-2 in the tie-breaker to move into the Page Playoff A2 vs B2 against Dean Jaeb who had to beat Brent Flaman 6-5 in a tie-breaker from the "A" pool. Jaeb and Flaman finished the round-robin with 3-2 records behind Ripplinger who was 4-1. In the A2 vs B2 Page playoff, Flasch defeated Jaeb, 8-2.
