Team Sask is extremely proud of our men’s volleyball team, who won GOLD against Team Alberta in the gold medal game at the Canada Games Park at 1pm EST today. The men came out winning two sets back-to-back, however, Alberta snuck in and won a set leaving it 2-1. Team Sask answered back and won the gold medal set, 25-22.
The last time Team Sask Volleyball teams were in the top 4 (four) in the country was over 30 years ago! In 1989, the women won gold and the men won silver. This year our ladies came home with a 4th (fourth) place finish after almost upsetting Alberta in the semifinal, and our men backed up their Canada Cup National gold with a Canada Games Gold Medal!
